This format is a creation of necessity, in the playgroups I'm in we would often struggle with cost being a potential obstacle to entry into a format (being that my playgroups consist of struggling college students). I had seen formats such as PDH (Pauper Dragon Highlander) and Tiny Leaders and while I liked the ideas of both formats I wanted something more casual than Tiny Leaders, and more serious than PDH. That is where I got the idea to create this format. I've been playtesting this format for roughly 5 months, and it has been well received. Therefore, I believe it is time to move to the next step and release it to the rest of the community. But let's move onto the reasons you should play this format.
Why Play BDH?
- You want to play non-legendary creatures as commanders
- You want a format accessible to as many people as possible
- You don't like spending butloads of cash on cards
- You believe EDH is too constraining in what you can do
- You want a fast-paced format
Why Shouldn't You Play BDH?
- You really want to run that Tarmagoyf/Mox Opal/Time Walk/Jace the Mind Sculptor
- You don't like singleton formats
- You don't like having to play by color identity
